Georgia Southern University’s Botanical Garden will host its annual Wine, Moonlight and Magnolias benefit on Thursday, April 19, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Garden.

“This is a wonderful chance to mingle under the stars on a warm spring evening and discover delicious wines,” said Botanical Garden Director Carolyn Altman. "It’s a great chance to enjoy the beauty of the Garden, and all proceeds go to benefit the Garden’s horticultural and educational programs.”

The Georgia Southern University Jazz Combo will provide entertainment and a variety of  heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served.

Raffle tickets for a trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming will be sold at the event, and a number of items will be auctioned off, including a private wine tasting and a catered cocktail party with Georgia Southern Head Football Coach Jeff Monken.

The evening will begin at 7 p.m. at the Georgia Southern University Botanical Garden, located at 1505 Bland Avenue in Statesboro. For a small additional charge, Old Savannah Tours will provide bus service to the event for regional wine lovers from the Landings on Skidaway Island, the Coastal Georgia Center on Fahm St. in downtown Savannah, and Lowe’s in Pooler.

Tickets are $45 per person through April 17th and $55 after April 17, and are available by calling 912-871-1149 with a major credit card.  Attendees must be 21 or older.
