SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC)- Folks got a great dinner for a great cause on Saturday.

The Coffee Bluff Marina Rescue Squadron held their 43rd annual barbecue dinner fundraiser.

Over 3,000 dinners are sold at the event. The dinners include barbeque, cole slaw, brunswick stew and a roll! The meals required the organizers to cook over 3,500 pounds of pork.

The money is used to assist boaters from Skidaway Island to Richmond Hill.

Del Love says, "everybody that's in the local area and neighborhood come and see us. We also have our regular customers that have been coming down here for 43 years and supporting us and it's a good thing for us. It really works out great."

Members of the Rescue Squadron were involved in rescuing a family that was lost on the water at the Fort McAllister Marina State Park just last Sunday. The two adults and a nine and seven year old were found safe and sound.
